Changing Seasons. Changing Life.

The seasons in Pocatello are well, kind of a joke.
One week it's 80 and sunny
and the next day the top of my car is covered in frost
and the heater in my apartment is out.
Well, that is exactly what happened this last week.
 I love fall.
I'm so excited for boots
and sweaters,
and hot chocolate,
and snuggling in blankets watching movies!
But that cold weather is just like BAM I'm here!

Just like the seasons in Pocatello, things in my life seem to change just as fast.
I don't get it really.
Why in life do things seem to be perfect...
and then you've gone engagement ring shopping with your man,
picked the one you want.. and then your single.
Hmmm.
Things change fast.  And it really does suck.
They say when life throws you lemons make lemonade.
Well I was thrown shi* and I'm making me a pie!

It hurts, but I can't apologize.
I gave my all in a relationship i was so excited about.
I thought for sure it would last forever (obviously I picked a ring)
and i thought he felt the same too.
But you can't regret giving your all.
It hasn't exactly helped my take on how I feel about relationships at the moment.
But not much does.
I'm the queen of bad luck.
I guess I just fall for the same type of people over and over.

i. have. to. stop.

Onward and upward.

That's all you can do.

Instagram Slam!

INSTAGRAM.
Well we all know it's everywhere.
 I LOVE IT!!
Almost as much as I love good food and family.
Here's my latest favorites.
Enjoy. :)

p.s. something I'm wearing in each one of these pictures came from DI or Goodwill
that's right :)
Feast your eyes upon my borderline crazy, pathetic, thrifting habits

wow...
(t-shirt- hand me up from my brother.  Pants- DI)

Not only do I get to be a princess, but I met Darth Vader!
(purple Rapunzel dress started as a white wedding dress from DI!
Some intense dying and sewing skills later... vwa la!)

Love. Clothes.

life

I am always amazed at how life can throw curve balls at everyone.
Things change in a matter of minutes, or even seconds.
Well, I feel like my life has been full of that.
I never really know what is going to happen and when...

When I was little my parents got a divorce.
Which is fine.  And I'm grateful for it.
So many blessings have come from this.
I know that I am who I am because of the things I have gone through.
I wouldn't change it for the world.
For instance, i GET to have more family than most people dream of.
Without bringing a husbands family into my life, I have 5 sets of grandparents.

But,  aside from blessings, I have had to learn alot of things..
like that I'm terrified of relationships.
I feel like that's weird coming from a girl, but it's true.
I have been in one too many bad ones.
I have been threatened in a car to do things I did NOT want to.
I have been cheated on.
I have had the man I love end up coming out of the closet.
I have had one decide not to claim me to find out he was dating and got engaged to someone else.
And it sucks!  And it makes you ask why.
WHY.  Because I chose my trials before this life.
I knew that I could handle them and so does the Lord.
I always thought that the reason we get certain trials is because someone else couldn't handle it.
And, I know other people took the trials from me that I couldn't handle.
and I am grateful for them.

I have learned more things from these experiences then I probably want at my age.
But, life keeps on coming.

I have learned from these experiences the following things..
I have learned what I want in a relationship, and that divorce wont be an option.
I've learned that I love my Savior more than I love anything else.
He allows me to repent of my sins.
I know that I want someone who will cherish me.
I want someone who puts the Lord before anyone else.
I want someone who makes me want to better myself.
I want to be happy. And, I want my future spouse to be happy.
I want him to have ambition.
I know the list goes on and on.

Recently I met a man who has all of these spirtual and emotional qualities I always wanted.
And he is amazing.
Only complaint... a little short :)
But that doesn't matter.
I realized that last night.
I got asked out on a date by someone I have been waiting to call for a month now.
He never called.  Until a week after I decided to actual "date" this other boy.
I wanted to go on this date because he was tall.  No other reasons.
I didn't know him, but I thought, I could wear my heels.
How pathetic.
I prayed good and hard, and talked to my boyfriend about it.
He said he didn't want to play games, but wanted me to be happy.
And I woke up this morning crying for fear I ruined something wonderful because of a 1 minute 15 second phone call.

I feel like it took a weird scared feeling like that to make me realize what I have.
And to make me realize I want to give this a very big shot.
Because I REALLY like him.

Life is crazy.
And they only reason I'm posting this is because I needed to talk myself through it.
I needed to put in writing exactly what I want.

Life is an adventure....

This last week has possibly been the most crazy, random, movie like week of my life. I couldn't be happier.  More on this subject, hopefully, to follow.  If all goes well.

Please go around to the...front door.

Well as I posted before, I took on the project of making my basement apartment cute.  I painted and am currently redecorating inside.  Pictures to come soon.  But, my latest, sucessful project was my door.  That's right my gorgeous new YELLOW door.  With a wreath that I made.  I just love the purple and yellow together, it's like my door is smiling at me everytime I come home! What more could you ask for :)

5 days.

Well I'm in just one of the best moods, because, I had 5 days off in a row!  Now I love my job, but that big of a break is heavenly!  And to top it all off, it was the 4th of July!  Just in case family is reading, I'll fill you in on my week.

Tues night:
My friends and I drove to West Yellowstone to watch Dirty Rotten Scoundrels at Playmill.  It was a lot of fun!  We just drove up right after work, and came home right after, getting me to bed around 2
Wednesday:
4th of July!!!  I watched the parade, played games with my family, sat outside, and went to the world's most awkward BBQ... no lie.  I didn't know these people, but my whole family went.  And the lady did not. stop. talking.  If her poor friends only knew what she had spouted out about them before they got there.....
Thursday:
It was gloomy outside. I remember that!  But I went and got ice cream with a friend I haven't seen in a LONG time, and watched The Lucky One for the 2nd time.  I'll hand it to him... Zac Efron is hot in that movie.
Friday:
I hung out at my moms.  I didn't really do much else.  We sat around talked, and watched some reruns of Face Off.  She hadn't seen that show, and I thought she should.   I love it. Then I went home in time to get a text from a friend who I haven't hung out with in a long time. So we went on a date. Got frozen yogurt, tried to show him how funny Big Bang Theory is, and he fixed my stove! Life saver.
Saturday:
I had lunch with my friends, and then went to my big sisters to finish some planning of her baby shower (for which I came up with the best theme, and invitations.  EVER.)   Then I babysat my little niece while her parents went out.  We watched puppy movies (Bolt, and Lady and the Tramp) in our pajamas, with popcorn.  She found my air popper a little scary.  She wasn't too sure what to think about it.
Sunday:
Church.  And then more Face Off with my family.  Then I go home to 2 movies I've been wanting to see waiting for me in my mailbox! My friends are so good to me.

And then, it's back to work.  But isn't it so nice when you have vacation and don't do much.  Sometimes that's just exactly what you need!  I didn't run around, didn't spend money.  And I was so well rested I actually got out of bed on time.  Yup, that's right.  The hair is done today!  Haha I even was awake before the alarm went off.  Feelin' Good!  And that's saying something when I HATE mornings, and was awake by 6am :)

Hope all of you enjoyed your 4th!

A New Beginning...

I started a blog becasue I thought it would help me.. and I haven't gone anywhere with it!!  So I'm going to try again.  This week has given me a lot to think about and I feel like its a good time to try to improve things in my life.

Well, this last weekend, a fire struck my hometown of Pocatello.  While I was not immediately effected by the fires, 66 families lost their homes to it.  It has been amazing to see a community rally together to try and help these families.  In less than 24 hours, drives for clothing, money, and basic necessities had begun.

As I sat comfortably on a couch in my apartment that I take for granted, I thought, "If I was given 10 minutes notice, and had to evacuate my house, knowing that I may or may not be able to return, what would I grab?"

Here are the first things I thought of..

1. My box of pictures
2.  My computer
3. My cell phone charger
4. My camera.
5. My Great-Grandma's yellow hat
6. My Rapunzel Dress
7. As many clothes as I could find!

thinking about the fires I thought of this......

Really!  What if we woke up today and had nothing but what I thanked my Heavenly Father for.  I can honestly say I wouldn't have much.  I know in church I said I was thankful for my talents, but I never say anything about my home, my clothes, the pen I love to use at work, my car, and so many more things.

GOAL: REMEMBER TO THANK GOD FOR WHAT I HAVE
