My Newest Project

I recently decided to move from my nice, comfortable, loving, bedroom at the Excell's house into a 1 bedroom apartment on the other side of town.  Now this apartment I could tell had potential, but revealing that would be a totally different story.  It was going to take a lot of TLC!  But, the fun part is, that I get to paint and do what I want to.  So here is one before picture to show you what the "paint job" was before.  And then there are a few others with other views of the apartment before I got anything moved in.  Now so you know, this apartment not only had a terrible paint job... It was disgusting.  I'm talking dog hair in the fridge and in the drawers disgusting!  (How does that even happen?!?)  We cleaned, cleaned, and cleaned.. and then I repainted every surface in the apartment because I was scared to touch things.  Then after evacuating the apartment to light off bug bombs, due to the bug problem, oh and did I mention the walls are concrete?  So hanging things up.. is well interesting.  Also, the outlets are not grounded!  Nor did they even have the option to plug a 3 prong plug in!  So we replace outlets, with the realization that if a storm hits I'll need to unplug everything just in case!  OHHH and did I mention pull chord lights in the bathroom and bedroom? Yup!
But all in all, it is starting to look VERY cute!   But here it is thus far!
This was the before paint job.

This is the same wall pictured above, just a slightly different angle.
I painted it a light tan (its still wet in this pic) and I had yet to repaint trim.

This is in the same room as pictured above, just the opposite wall.
I'm going to build a frame around the AC and add another shelf to the entertainment center.
I have my own, so I'll make it a shelf, and put a mock drawer over the smaller gap.
WITH all new hardware.

Again, the other wall of the living room... The hallway leads to a laundry room and that is the door to
the bathroom.  I repainted that hallway tan (with the help of Wilson)

Crazy town kitchen!  I covered my "furnace room" with teal curtains, and will add refinish the cupboards
to my summer to do list.  They don't exactly go all the way to the ceiling.. they are kind of falling off.
They also are lacking kick boards :)

And the bathroom!  It is interesting in real life.  But I love the floors :)

Well, wish me luck in the project! I hope it works out great!
This week I'll be finishing unpacking and painting the front door!
